You can change a few choices made on the Passive Skill Tree with items received during your adventures, but complete respecs are off the table. It’s important to become familiar with the Ascendancy classes when you start the game because you can’t fully respec a character in Path of Exile. If you want some Templar passives for your Ranger, you can get them, but it will take a lot of points to create a path from the Ranger to the Templar areas in the Tree. You can get to any node no matter where you begin. The nodes that are most useful to a class branch out from the class start point, and all the nodes in the Tree are connected. Having an idea about the Ascendancy class you’re aiming for will help guide your way through the Passive Skill Tree. You won’t unlock the Ascendancy classes for a while, but it’s a very good idea to take some time to become familiar with them before you choose your first class.
